Abstract

The article is dedicated to a reflection on the professional identity of academic teachers. Its aim is to explore and characterize the structure of this identity by referring to its three basic dimensions: substantive, didactic and pedagogical. The text is primarily empirical; it focuses on the analysis and interpretation of empirical material collected with questionnaires among employees of the Poznań University of Economics and Business. In order to detect the structure of professional identity a few statistical analysis methods were used, including a factor and cluster analysis. An important contribution of the author is the identification and description of the interrelationships among three professional roles of academic teachers.
